Traveler In areas like where this picture was taken, if possible and you can find a place to eat lunch, usually it's at an outdoor stall, there is an Malaysian stew / soup specialty called Soto Ayam. It is their version of chicken soup with ginger, and warm spices it is filled with delicious geometric shaped fillings. Crispy Rice cubes, meat and potato meatballs, and crispy golden fried onions. Sometimes noodles or shrimp is in it slso. There are bowls of sliced radishes, cilantro and other greens, sprouts and whatever is fresh and local. Also on the side is a sauce that is salty, sour and with different levels of heat. For those who like it hotter fresh chilies are also in bowls. This Malaysian dish, "Soto" looks unusual and tastes so good it's like a big hug in a bowl and If you get the opportunity it is worth trying.
