Other things to see, Springbrook NP

    April 19, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

The light they emit from their bodies attract insects. The vertical web filaments traps them for food. The creatures are not actually worms but are the larval stage of a fly. While the fly lives only a couple of days, mates and dies, the larvae have a long life of around 8-9 months.
