    Wang power station

    April 24, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Wallerawang is in the midst of quite a few coal mines. Some are still producing coal but rather than a conveyor ride to the power station, it makes its way to a coal loading fa ility and heads off to local markets

Camping in this area was alongside the lake, Lake Wallace, purpose built for cooling water for the power station. Water comes from nearby to fill the lake as needed.

Today the only use made of the lake is recreational. Campers are allowed to spend two days here enjoying the beautiful surrounds.

Birds are abundant and vary vastly from season to season. Ducks though are here all the year round.
