River Cruise April 2014

Landed 45 minutes early , 8am. Our driver , Roman, drove us to Brugge , 1 1/2 hours. Arrived at Calis Bed & Breakfast. We were greeted warmly by Laurence , female. Our room was upstairs, 33 narrow stairs to be exact, with no elevator! A very nice room. Took a walk and found that this is a great location. We stopped and had a real Belgian Waffle! Delicious. Continued to check out the area. Lots of restaurants, open air cafés, cobblestone streets, brick and mortar buildings, a beautiful bell tower. We stopped and had a typical Belgian meal at St Amandjste. Flemish stew which is like pot roast all cut up, it comes with chunky applesauce and little fingerling potatoes. We also had shared a Greek salad. It was a delicious lunch. Walked around a bit more then back to room for a short nap. Few hours later we took a walk to dinner. Yelp recommended Breydel de Coninck . We shared a cheese croquette that was so yummy . Glass of wine, Cristi had scampi with a delicious saffron cream sauce, I had the mussels. Evidentially they are not in season, so they are small. They tasted fine" needed salt. Back to room for a good nights rest.Baca lagi
