Skagen is a charming fishing town at the very tip of Denmark and the northernmost point of continental Europe. Despite having only about 7,500 residents, it attracts nearly 2 million visitors each year.

One of the town's biggest draws is Grenen, where the North Sea and Baltic Sea meet in a spectacular display of crashing waves. It's also fascinating to learn that more than 300 ships pass the tip of Denmark every day, making this an important maritime crossroads.

In the late 1800s, Skagen became a haven for artists who were drawn by the area's unique light, beautiful landscapes, and dramatic sea shores. Their influence can still be seen throughout the town today.

We also made a visit to the Sand-Covered Church. Built in the 14th century, the church was gradually buried by drifting sand dunes, forcing its closure in the late 1700s. Today, only the white tower remains visible above the sand.
