We hired a boat!

We hired a boat and her captain Eldev and deck hand Kayno, for four hours today and sailed the coast line of south Türkiye into the cove of Hamana and the Black cove and we were blown away! It was a very relaxing and memorable experience with us all sun baking on the deck of his 40 year old beautiful boat listening to his stories of old bodrum and new, where we could see Greece and experience a magnificent view of Türkiye. We anchored in each of these coves, 40 minutes apart and swam in the Aegean sea, which was crystal clear, cold and salty. So salty, that Peter was able to enjoy floating with ease! A flock of geese swam in to eat the bread Eldev provided and the big fat seagulls kept us company overhead. The feeling was peaceful and we snorkeled near the rocks off shore. Once we clambered on board, via the wooden ladder on the side (quite the effort) we were treated to an array of fruits - banana, apples, cherries, pomegranate and walnuts along with the cold beer we took on board. it was truly beautiful and we dried off in the sun on the comfy deck beds under the sails. Hopefully you get the picture.
Our walk back to the hotel, down two death defying super narrow curvey streets (cars/motor bikes ) leads us to the pool where we have lounged under the most beautiful hot pink bougainvillea flowers climbing white washed walls with blue window frames and red/yellow verandas - soooo besutiful. It’s almost 37c and very humid so it’s a relief to be in water again with our friends.Read more
