I. AFR/NA - 9. Tag, Himba Tribes Outjo

Heute hatten wir wieder eine sehr lange Fahrt vor uns (7-8h für 320km) auf der bisher holprigsten Straße überhaupt. Hieß wieder jede Menge kostenlose Massagen und Achterbahn-Fahrten, wurden gut durchgeschüttelt, es war super laut und manchmal hatte man das Gefühl, dass der LKW bald auseinanderfällt :P
'Shake it off' von Taylor Swift ist mittlerweile unser begleitendes Lied für sämtliche Busch- und Steinpausen :D

Auf dem Weg zu unserem Campingplatz in Outjo hatten wir die Aussicht auf den Mount of Mystery, der mit 2500m der höchste Berg in Namibia ist. Außerdem fuhren wir an einigen Hütten der Himba-Stämme vorbei und sahen die lokalen Einwohner sowie auch ab und zu ein paar Giraffen.

Zwischendurch war es dann so heiß, dass unser geliebter LKW Sammy überhitzte und wir eine kurze Pause einlegten, um ihn abkühlen zu lassen - oja, das ist eben eine Abenteuertour ;)

Today we had another long driving day (7-8 hrs for 320km) on so far the worst bumpy road ever. That basically meant again a lot of free massages and rollercoaster feelings, we got shaken and jumped around, it was pretty loud and sometimes we got the feeling that the truck might fall apart :P
'Shake it off' from Taylor Swift has now become our accompanying song for any bushes and stone breaks :D

On the way to our campground in Outjo we enjoyed the view of the Mountain of Mystery which is the highest mountain in Namibia, measuring 2500m. Moreover, we passed some huts of the Himba tribe and saw some locals as well as every now and often some giraffes.

In the meanwhile it got so hot that our lovely truck Sammy overheated so that we had to do a short stop in order to cool it down - oh yeah, this is definitely an adventure tour ;)Read more
