First stop, Monroe City, MO

Drove 322 miles today. A mixture of grey with periods of bright sunshine and big, billowing white clouds. Big, brown fields, plowed already. This is a drive I wanted to do for myself. After almost two years of vestibular neuritis then its chronic form, PPPD, physical therapy, cognitive therapy, using a walker then a cane … finally I am well enough to drive again and it feels just fine! The rest of our fam is flying to Colorado later this week, but I wanted to drive, to see some road. Seems like the terrain got hillier as soon as I crossed the Mississippi. I chose to take smaller roads, not interstates. A really fun and soul-enriching day.Read more
