Day 1

Nice and early and straight onto the beach of Sodwana Bay. It's winter here and I cannot believe how cold the sand is. My expectation was that the sea would be as cold, but it was surprisingly warm.Leggi altro
Day 2

It's a challenge getting the teenagers up early, but they all said it was worth it after we went to the beach to see the sunrise.
Then out into the community to see all the houses that we have builtLeggi altro
Day 3

Day three and it's Build day everybody's up early ready to rock by 7 am. We meet at the builders and everybody gets stuck in.
It's great to have Xoliswa around.

Today we have two teachers (Lesley & Karen) making their journey from UK via Doh to Durban to be picked up tomorrow. gonna be working in the Christop Meyer School with Dorothy the principal.

The team today went to the build a little later has we had not received the delivery of blocks yesterday. Often a challenge getting all the materials out here.

All the plans were made for us to go to the breakfast club only one problem the guys that deliver the bricks forgot to add the porridge onto the load for the schools.

Second time lucky.!
Up at 5am and ready to go to the breakfast club. This is probably one of my favourite activities just seeing and knowing that all the children are being fed and can start their dayLeggi altro
Day 8

The team got a lie in today which they were very grateful for. The two teachers that we have with us went off up to the children's home to do a loom bands with them while the rest of the team wentLeggi altro
Day 9

A great day is always the Safari day and I love it when the volunteers get the surprise of meeting the Elephants. We stayed at The Barn and not Bayete Zulu. Which was different and gave us access toLeggi altro
Day 10

Rambo he is huge and it always surprises me when i meet him but also how gentle he is.
Next stop was the Butterfly palliative care centre. It was great to see little Olly with his new wheelchair.

Today is After school club which is actually at 11am 🙄 🤣 The team always feel nervous with so many children around. Mdinwa school is an amazing school with so many kids that are vulnerable orLeggi altro

Bag wash day
It's the muckiest day of the trip but the most fun. Applying a layer cement on to the walls ready to be painted that protects the water seeping through the walls in the winter. AfterLeggi altro
