Day #157 Uzbekistan (part 2)

We made ourselves get up early to go on a walking tour of Bukhara, which was quite good. We saw the majority of the key sites in 3 hours, including:

- The 4 trading domes that were used to sell goods, such as gold and silk.
- Adullakhan and Ulug 'bek madrassi, which were schools for religion and science. Abdulaziz Khan madrassah is still being used as an islamic school today.
- Bolo Hauz mosque.
- Samanid mausoleum.

The town was very authentic, with the majority of the buildings from the 16th century. Only a couple of buildings remain from the 12th century, when Chinggis Khan invaded and destroyed everything - one mosque and the tower.
