Kaikoura

We checked into the NZMCA park on Old Beach Road, in Kaikoura. What a lovely spot. After emptying our grey water and refilling our freshwater tanks we found a nice spot to park up. There are only 14 vans here and the site can take 100 so there's plenty of space.

After setting up we headed out to see Andrew's sister and partner and had a lovely few hours, eating a delicious Moroccan chicken dish Penny had cooked, followed by a naughty self saucing chocolate pudding!

Unfortunately Andrew had begun sneezing earlier in the day and by the evening this had developed into a fully blown cold and he was feeling grotty.

After a good night's sleep for us both we decided to have a quiet day just pottering around the campsite. After lunch we took a little walk about 1km up the road and found a beach access so had a quick walk to have a look before walking back.

Nice easy dinner of omelettes, a quiet evening reading and playing games. There was a bit of rain and the wind became quite gusty for a while but it's quietened down totally now!Read more
