Brisbane to K'Gari

This was a four day adventure up to do an overnight 4WD (Not that there is a choice with that) guided bus tour.
We were fighting the weather while on the island, a cyclone to the north of us bringing a lot of rain down to us.

  • Not Noosa Coastal Walk

    January 11 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

This was the third time trying to do the Noosa Coastal Walk in the past two years and we can never get a car park there. Even today leaving at 5am we thought that there was a chance... Nope, traffic trying to enter the gate.

So we have to there again after a couple of laps, watching people being painful with how long they take to get in their car. If you are a single guy, why do you need to do laps of the car and open every door. Confusing.

Anyway, we went and got a park at our favourite secret park near Hastings Street and decided to go for a swim there instead. Between the Red and Yellow flags of course.

  • Maryborough

    January 11 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

This was only a very brief stop in the city for some food and Woolies before heading out to the AirBnB. It was raining so we didn't get out to see more of the town then a few photos of the War Memorial.Read more

  • Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora)

    January 12 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 26 °C

If I squinted then I could see just how stunning this location would have been in prefect weather. But it was still crystal clear and perfect temperature for swimming regardless. Glad this was our first stop before the rain set in.Read more

  • Central Station (Wanggoolba Creek)

    January 12 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 26 °C

A pretty little walk down to the crystal clear Wanggoolba Creek. I thought it was covered in algae when i first saw it, but was the complete opposite by seeing directly into the sand at the bottom.

This was an old (I say old, but I think it only stopped in 1991) logging station. Some recent at from the Butchulla people was a nice surprise that they do every so often.

  • First Wild Dingo Sighting

    January 13 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

This was the first Dingo we've seen in the wild and we were treated to a rare sight apparently. We found this one just in time to watch it search and catch a little bit of breakfast. We couldn't see what it caught but we watched it pounce and devourer whatever it was in a minute or two before it walked off. Loved that!Read more

  • The Pinnacles

    January 13 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

The coloured sands called the Pinnacles was the first major stop for the day, even if it was short.

Should have more prominent colours with the morning sun on them, but there was no sun today.

  • Eli Creek

    January 13 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

The water looks dirty, but in reality it is crystal clear and what you see in the pictures is the sandy bottom of the little creek. Only deep enough to go to your waist in the forest sections, otherwise it is mostly knee height. Perfect to sit on a inflatable tube and float down.Read more

  • Third Dingo Sighting

    January 13 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 26 °C

Third one was pretty special too, parents and two kids by the looks a the youngest hadn't been tagged yet. These ones were play fighting and we followed them for a fair distance. They were very interested in the 4wds with trailers since they knew there was food in them.Read more

  • Turkish Dinner

    January 13 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 25 °C

Olive Turkish in Hervey Bay was delicious, but not where we planned to go originally. Originally we were meant to go next door to the Italian restaurant, but I owned the door and asked for a table before the other two could stop me and tell me I was in the wrong restaurant. Oh well, Turkish is Alex's favourite cuisine, we think it's because it's the only style that he can eat all the sauces.Read more

  • Urangan Pier

    January 14 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Over 1km out to the main channel this pier sticks out. It was a really nice walk out there with a nice breeze to keep it cool, the water was so beautiful and clear and the little birds flying around.

  • Kenilworth Bakery

    January 14 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

They have the 1kg Jam and Cream Doughnut challenge.. Which Alex wanted to do. But unfortunately there was a little bit of a miscommunication between Alex and I which many that unfortunately we couldn't complete it.Read more

  • Fig Tree Walk

    January 14 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

I've lost count with the number of times I've done this walk now. It's just a nice pretty little forest walk. The boardwalk has seen better days with parts of it 'closed'. Ending with a lucky little goanna sighting.Read more
