  • Green Haven Stall

    September 7, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

A little stall on the side of the road and one of the longest running in the region. A hands-on, family-owned and operated business, was really nice to go in there and say hi and grab a few things to take home.Read more

  • The Regenerative Training Centre

    September 7, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

This was a fascinating stop. A former school excursion facility that has been converted into an education center for farming.

The amount of thought process and care that Todd has done to make his farm as self-sufficient as possible was so interesting to learn about. The way the compost feeds the worms, worms feed the fish, fish fertilise the plants, plants go back into the fertiliser. Chickens live in the thin tree barrier between the areas, which serves as protection from the birds of prey.Read more

  • Blue Dog Farm

    September 7, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

A small family farm growing herbs and vegetables and also small beef production. Their claim to fame is their 'Really Facy Salad' and 'Really Facy Beef', which we got to try on an amazing burger.

Lacey's Hill Distilling was also there and we got a try their Apple Pie Moonshine and some non alcoholic soda. Goes without saying there will be more trying of that moonshine over the coming weeks at home.

  • Mathema Gallery and Ocean View Estates

    September 7, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Ocean View Estates is a winery and restaurant, which wasn't really our thing though the food did look delicious. Strangely their cellar door wasn't open today... Which confused me.

But what did excite us was the mathematics gallery/museum at the entry of the estate. The owners of the winery were both mathematics professors in their career life. Really quite an interesting find to learn the math history of the different regions.Read more

  • Fleurpot Flowers

    September 7, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Only 160sqm this is considered a micro flower farm and specialises in seasonal flowers, so there is something all year round. Fun to see, but we know nothing about growing flowers.

  • Green Thumb Farm

    September 7, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

These ladies were nutters in the best way, it had been a big day but they were still very much full of energy and laughter.

Here they persuaded us to get some local kombuchaand greens from the gardens for a smoothie at home.

But really their pups is a community garden education service to get people the knowledge to grow beautiful and functional gardens at home. Really passionate people and a really nice stop.

Last stop for it day was here at City Chicks. This is a specialised farm of 25 types of chickens and poultry, including lambs and goats.
