    A.I.F BURIAL GROUND- PTE Gage

    This cemetary consits of 1200 known graves and 2200 still unknown soldiers graves of the great war. 142 of those graves are Australian.

    Today i had the honour of attending the Dedication ceremony for PTE Charles A Gage.

    Killed in action 3rd December 1916 age 25

    Charles brother Christopher was killed the next September in Belgium, just over 100kms apart. His father loosing both his sons ended up loosing his mind and spent many years in a mental asylum. His mother then wrote every year for the next 20 years to try and recieve a pension for her two lost sons. This was the sad reality for many of the family's left behind.
