Day 42 Made it to Samos

Arrived shortly before 16h. 19.4 km. After Fronfria several kilometres accompanying the Nacional LU 633. Until well after Tricastela. Not too bad, always high above the Rio Sarria.

Finally left the road and the path went into the forest on the side of the mountain, staying flat at the same altitude. In the end we crossed over from one side of the valley to the other side several times, each time after a long stretch flat in altitude. This meant going down steeply, crossing over the river flowing on the bottom of the valley and steeply up to "cruising altitude" again. The landscape was beautifully green all the time. When I think of the vast dry fields in the meseta!

So anyway I made it. Felt my knee a bit when going steeply down, steeply up no problem. Upon arrival I had a look at last - small Schürfwunde in German, abrasive wund according to Google. It looks red, but does not bleed and is not even wet, just the top layer of the skin come off - quite dry. So I will not touch it, leave it alone to heal. How lucky I have been!Read more
