A nice new albergue with a washing machine and a dryer, which we desperately needed. Collected the key from the town hall and used the 'town lift' to get from the lower town up to the albergue. The infrastructure is very good in these Basque towns. There is general concern about the climb through the mountains tomorrow. A gain in elevation of 800 metres in 8 km is going to be a long and painful experience (slope of 1 in 10 for 5 miles). The possibility of snow will just add jeopardy to the experience.Read more
