Gorge de Galamus

We pitched our tent near the bottom of the gorge. Weather has changed, it is almost warm @ night even.

Pech d'Auzou

Great views with blue sky all around us.
We are @ ca. 910 m, can both see the Mediterranean for the first time and also some pyrenean peaks covered in snow.
Chateau de Peyrepertuse

Another really great chateau. Just amazing.
Found an aspis viper on the way up and caught a beautiful grasshopper on the way down.
Moulin de Ribaute natural pools

Half an hours walk from Douilhac. Wonderful!
A bit cold but very refreshing 😊
Cucugnan

A really nice village with a small supermarket and great views from the hill overlooking the mill. Had this funny idea of buying a house there...
Quéribus

My favourite castle so far. It had been Aragonian until it became French in the 13th century.
Fantastic views from up there including towards Peyrepertuse.
Chateau de Pradern

Another castle ruin (closed to the public).
An old chapel further down (also closed).
Prieuré de Molhet

Chateau d'Aguilar

A late start from the campsite in Tuchan because we had to sort out some problems.
Finally a nice supermarket in town plus an ATM. We had been down to less than 10 EUR.
Walked through many vinyardsRead more
Notre-Dame de la Récaoufa

Visible from far away.
Anne was a bit unhappy because the hike went up the hill because of the statue... 😥
Roquefort-des-Corbières

Last day hiking from Durban-Corbières to the sea. A hot day hiking through la Garrique with interspersed vinyards and a pretty town (Roquefort) after more than 15k.
Like yesterday a longish hike atRead more
Port-la-Nouvelle: we've done it !

After more than 3 weeks we have arrived at our destination: Port-la-Nouvelle. It was a hot day and first stop had to be the beach where we took a swim in the warm sea.

Banyuls-sur-Mer: Great wines

We had one day left and also one travel-day on our Interrail pass to spare.
