Stayed at the Courtyard for my trip to SD. Has a really nice outdoor pool and hot tub great for recovery after the marathon.
Flight to San Diego

Carlsbad Marathon

Drove up to Carlsbad to run the Carlsbad Marathon. Beautiful course, but hilly. Enjoyed the race although I struggled the last 10 miles. I don’t run very good in warm weather marathons. Now back toWeiterlesen
South Fortuna Summit Hike

Point Loma Tidal Pond

Cabrillo Mounment and Lighthouse

Ocean Beach Sunset

Hoping to get on the pier, but it was close due to high surf. Still had a beautiful sunset! Cool beach town!
Cuyamaca Peak Hike

Took the day to drive up to the mountains. What a spectacular hike. Very little people on side trails up to Cuyamaca. Well worth the visit!
Stonewall Peak

Went right into this hike after coming down the fire road off Cuyamaca. Bit more crowded here but still a fun and beautiful hike.
Anza Borrego Desert

Anza is just over one pass and 45 minute drive from Cuyamaca, completely different topography and environment. Made it just before sunset. Watch the box canyon fill with darkness, cool!
Nickel Beer Brewery

When driving on a remote mountain road and come across a random brewery, you have to stop. Sampled the triple and porter, good stuff.
Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Hike
