Up at 10.00 after the big night before. Big cooked breakfast and headed off about 1.00pm for the drive to Looe. Booked in to the Deganwy and walked around town. Decided on an alcohol free day, so fish & chips and ice cream for dinner. Earlyish night.Read more

Up early and a big cooked breakfast a 8.00. Walked the cost path to Polperro stopping at Talland for a milk shake. Walked around Polperro; cream tea; fresh mussels; and posted Kai's card. Bus back to Looe. Drink at Ye Olde Salutation Inn; quite a few more at the Bullers Arms; then the best ever fish dinner at the Old Sail Loft restaurant - but couldn't pay as had left the credit card at the hotel. Nightcap with Donna & Dave and a few other guests.Read more

Morning drive to find the spectacular waterfalls in the area, but without much success. Drive o Glasbury for our canoe ride on the River Wye. Paddled 5.5 miles downstream, negotiating rapids on the way, to Ross???? on Wye. Stopped off at the ????? Cider Mill where Bernie discovered Thatchers Haze cider. Walked in to town with a drink by the river at the Bridge Inn????; he Brittania Arms????; and then The Bear where we also had dinner.Read more

Few drinks at home then in to the village for G&Ts at a bar then to the Indian. Walk home for more drinks; pool with Paul; and lots of chat til about 1.30am.Read more

Lovely morning with Paul & Jo til lunchtime, then off to Southport. Paul Harris just as I remember him and Margaret a lovely person. Drive in to town and a pleasant walk around & on the pier. Couple of pints in a Weatherspoons pub then back home for a delicious meal; lots of drinks; lots of chat; and taking turns with the music via Napster. Bed around 2.30am.Read more

Breakfast with Paul & Margaret then set off on our longest drive so far to Edinburgh about 10.30. Few stops at the 'Services' & hit Edinburgh about 4.30. Check in wasn't until 5.00 so decided to have a drive through the town - big mistake as we got a bit lost and ended up down Princes Street driving along the tram tracks. Checked in then a few drinks & dibber at the Salisbury Arms. Early night given our last two late ones.Read more

Huge day. Breakfast a 8.00 then after our morning 'communications' session got a bus in to town.Walk through Princess Street Gardens, then 2.5 hour walking tour around the Old Town. Then a visit to the Castle followed by a walk down the Golden Mile. Then, perhaps foolishly decided to climb Arthur's Seat. Must have taken the longest and most arduous route as finally made it to the top. Easier walk back down; drink in the Salisbury followed by a great Indian around the corner. Walk back to the B&B absolutely shattered.Read more

Breakfast at Dad's then set off to Peterborough. Stopped at a reservoir on the way and walked a fair while around the lake. Had lunch there - Bwie with Cwanbewwy on Bwown Bwead! On to the hotel in Peterborough where Moyra was waiting for us. A few drinks in the bar then explored the local area - not much to see. To our rooms to fweshen up then we met Moyra in the bar for a few more before Dad & Jen joined us for the Indian buffet - not too bad. Early night.Read more

Latish breakfast at the hotel then Ian joined us. Discussion about Jennifer - overheard by mum! Went on a lovely long walk around Ferry Meadows Country Park - all taking time to have a chat to Dad. Jennifer taking photos to later photoshop herself in! Back to the hotel for late lunch then said our goodbyes to Ian & Moyra. In the evening met up with Tina, Pearl, Daz, & Anita for dinner - really lovely catch up.Read more

Went up to Mum's fairly early & Bernie washed her hair. Across the road to the Brewer's Fayre for lunch with Mum, Moyra, Ian & Arthur. Back to Ian's place to meet the dogs then drove down to Igtham to check out the house Moyra & Ronnie are thinking of buying. On to Robin & Dawn's for a few very pleasant hours then home for another night of G&Ts.Read more
