    New kilometers counting

    September 23, 2019, Yellow Sea ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

A quick counting update between China and South Korea. I think I rode.. 1 457 km in China (707 until Guilin, then another 750 km from Hangzhou to Lianyungang). Which brings me to a new total of... 5 291 km !

But I realized two things :
    - This counting is probably far off from the "real" numbers. I noticed that my map application sometimes skips as many as 20 or 30 km per day, by creating an oversimplified straight line instead of counting all the curves !
    - I also learned that most cyclists use a counter to record every kilometer, even when they spend time in cities or make little detours to buy groceries or things like that... On the contrary, I generally only count using the planned navigation on Google Maps or Maps me (a priori), rather than by recording all the kilometers rode (a posteriori) or if I do.... I do it with my map application, which proved to be inaccurate ! Nevermind. I won't buy a counter now, at the end of my trip, nor will I change my way of counting.

To make things easier, I offer myself a Chinese gift of 9 km, to round up the total to... 5 300 km ! 🙂
