    Thingvellir national park

    This iconic place is the gap between the two continental plates.
    The Silfra fissure is an underwater fissure located in Thingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are separating.
    They pull apart from each other at a rate of 2 cm per year, which is quite high.
    I would have loved to be able to dive down there.
    We had a lot more on the plan, but the weather was too horrendous.
