    Morning in Strasbourg, France

    April 7, 2023 in France ⋅ ☁️ 50 °F

Originally we were supposed to stop in Strasbourg, France on our way to Baden Baden but ran out of time. So glad we decided to spend the morning and early afternoon here! We couldn’t figure out the French vignette (sticker for your car as a tax, very heavy fines if not done correctly) so we parked in Kehl, Germany and walked over the Rhine River. It was founded by the Romans in 12 BC, was conquered by the Germans, then became part of France. The notre dame cathedral took over 400 years to build (1015-1439), was the tallest building in the world for 227 years, and is absolutely beautiful. It’s still the 6th tallest church in the world. We climbed the bell tower 332 steps up with a beautiful view of the city below. We ate crepes afterward and picked up a few bottles of wine to take back.Read more
