• Helicopter tour 4: Wai’ale’ale crater

    When Wai’ale’ale erupted 5 million years ago it formed the coconut coast and created a sheer wall for water to run down. Our pilot said we were really lucky today since it had rained so much but the clouds parted for a few hours during our tour so we could get into the crater. Usually it’s either socked in with clouds or there’s water coming down but not as much as we saw. When it’s running hard like it was today they call it the Weeping Wall.Read more
