Saw the owner of Willet on our tour, he’s very active around the property at 82 years young. Our tour guide also took the two of us and Erica’s dad back up to the tanks to taste “distillers beer” and the sour mash. Definitely a great experience.Read more

We started the day with going back to Buffalo trace for their new allocation, EH Taylor.

Then we headed for downtown Louisville and had a great lunch at Merle’s whisky kitchen. Walked over to Michter distillery, which originated in Pennsylvania and folklore has it was visited by George Washington when he was trying to keep his troops warm. The name comes from the current owners sons, Michael and Peter.

We then headed back to Bardstown for another tasting and to try a Kentucky downtown hot brown sandwich from Mammy’s. It was delicious, but was heavy enough to be split between two people.Read more
