Wompatuck State Park offers 12 miles of paved bicycle trails, and many miles of wooded bridle paths and hiking trails.Read more

  • Whale watching bliss

    August 17, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 70 °F

Day 7 in Boston area was absolutely magical. We went on a whale watching tour with the New England Aquarium. We ended up being in the middle of 30 humpback whales bubble feeding for over an hour. You know it’s special when the naturalist on board is overwhelmed with giddiness as we were surrounded by the whales. It was the best day, and if I can ever get my big camera to transfer photos again, I’ll have hundreds of shots to add to this post 😂Read more

  • Isabella Gardener museum

    August 18, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 81 °F

Day 8 in Boston area started at the Isabella Gardener museum. An absolute must if you’re in the area, it is an art museum which houses significant examples of European, Asian, and American art. Its collection includes paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and decorative arts. It was founded by Isabella Stewart Gardner, whose will called for her art collection to be permanently exhibited "for the education and enjoyment of the public forever."

In 1990, thirteen of the museum's works were stolen. The crime remains unsolved, and the works, valued at an estimated $500 million, have not been recovered. A $10 million reward for information leading to the art's recovery remains in place.
