Summer 2023 Roadtrip

We visited the Gillette castle state park on our final day in the Moodus area, built by William Hooker Gillette, it sits atop an estate known as the seventh sister (it’s the 7th peak of a set of rolling hills). It’s an 184 acre estate with a castle like structure that Gillette designed himself and made of local field stone and hand hewn southern white oak. Of the 47 doors inside, no two are the same, and he personally designed much of the interior as well. We didn’t have the chance to tour the inside, but were able to enjoy wandering the grounds.Okumaya devam et
