• Big Buddha and the Banteay Srei Temple

    We arrived in Siem Reap late in the evening and in the morning were picked up by our guide and went on to visit an active temple with the big reclining Buddha carved into the mountain. Our pictures were made stunning by the young monks in their bright orange robes. We then walked by the river and saw local families enjoying their Sunday, swimming in the river and by the waterfall. We then visited our first temple of the Angkor region, which was made of red sandstone, unlike all the other gray and yellowish temples.
