Rengeoin Sanjusangendo

Okay, this was really cool. I had to Google possible pictures, as they were very serious about NO PICTURES when I visited. Plus it was raining outside, so I couldn't take a good picture of the building.
Rengeoin Sanjusangendo is a Buddhist temple, founded in 1164. It's official name is Rengeō-in (蓮華王院) which means 'Hall of the Lotus King'. It's most famous part is its main hall (hondō) where there are 1001 (really, not a typo) standing statues (called Thousand-armed Kannon) as well as statues of Fūjin and Raijin amongst others.

Rengeoin Sanjusangendo egy buddhista templom, amit 1164ben alapítottak. A hivatalos neve Rengeō-in (蓮華王院) aminek a jelentése "A lótusz király terme".
