Built for deified Emperor Meiji, the first Emperor of modern Japan, and Empress Shoken in 1920, 8 and 6 years after their passing. It was destroyed in WWII, but rebuilt shortly after.

Due to corcerns about the virus, no walk-ins are allowed - so no Palace today for me. I'll check out the gardens then. The Emperor himself is in Asakusa.

There´s a zoo here, but because of the virus, naturally, it is closed. The park is nice enough to walk around a little bit, but with the weather being rainy, I couldn't enjoy it as much I'dOkumaya devam et
