Where's the sun? Are there pebbles? (No)

We had breakfast at the Happy Girl Kitchen Company, the name very adequate to our mood. We were excited to start our drive to Big Sur with the 17miles around Monterey peninsula, strolling at the pebble beach on the pebbles under the californian sun. Which was hidden behind the clouds almost until Big Sur. But then the sky got endless and the views were stunning. We had a wonderful drive until we had to turn around since mudslides damaged the road further south. We had the idea of spending the rest of the day on the pebbles at Pebble beach. Good plan. Eigetlech. It is a fancy golf resort and there are no pebbles at the beach. At all! Why call it pebble beach? It's just sand told as the posh lady from the golf shop. She had no idea where this very misleading name comes from. So we continued our drive back to Pacific Grove to get coffee and cake somewhere else. Again, what a beautiful day! Czytaj więcej
