    I just had the best coffee ever.👌🏻 Flu is finally leaving me, but still need to rest for a few days. Tomorrow we check out from our hostel and going to a beautiful camping ground close to Melbourne, at the Great Ocean road. Would have gotten a job already but damn flu changed the plan a bit. Oh well, we'll just keep looking. Oh and we bought a car. It's awesome. 😎

    Juuri join parasta kahvia ikinä. 👌🏻Flunssa alkaa vihdoin hellittää, mutta vielä pitää ottaa pari päivää vaan levon kannalta. Huomenna jätetään hostelli ja lähdetään kauniille leirintäalueelle lähelle Melbournea, ja se on vielä Great ocean roadin varrella! Ois saatu jo töitäkin hedelmänpoimijoina, mutta flunssa muutti suunnitelmia. Täytyy vaan jatkaa etsintöjä. Ai niin ja ostettiin auto! Se on upea. 😎    En savoir plus

    Cafe working

    Strong coffee and a strong sun. Afternoons have to be spent indoors because the uv-rays are so strong that we just burn outside. Sunscreen helps but oh lord if you forget even a tiny spot somewhere! It's getting hotter. After the sun starts going down we'll go floating in the cool ocean. I finally have a working internet connection! Also number changed but I don't think anyone would call me here anyway. It's super expensive. I added a pic from last weekend when we went to see tiny penguins at night. They climb the rocks to rest the night. City at night looks amazing.

    Vahvaa kahvia ja vahva aurinko. Iltapäivät täytyy olla sisällä, koska voimakkaan uv-säteilyn takia ulkona palaa. Aurinkorasva auttaa toki, mutta herranjestas jos unohtaa pienenkään kohdan rasvaamatta! Lämpötilat nousee koko ajan loppuviikkoa kohden. Kunhan aurinko alkaa laskea me lähdetään kellumaan viilentävään mereen. Vihdoinkin sain toimivan netin itelleni! Numerokin vaihtui kun käytän nyt uutta simkorttia (suominumero myös toiminnassa, mutta ei voi käyttää kahta korttia samaan aikaan), mutta enpä usko kenenkään tänne soittelevan mulle muutenkaan. Se on superkallista! Lisäsin kuvan viime viikonlopulta kun käytiin yöllä kattomassa minipingviinejä. Ne nousee kallioille merestä yöllä lepäämään. Öisin kaupunki näyttää tosi hienolta.     Second week in Aus begins

    This morning we switched our accommodation closer to the beach. This hostel is better for us because of a huge professional kitchen and lots of activities and help available to find jobs. Before we even checked in a nice recruitment professional helped us to polish our cv:s and also we got ourselves new phone numbers and internet connection! Yay! Except that because my last name always causes troubles my new simcard doesn't work yet. I have to go to the operator's store tomorrow to get it fixed. They don't have ä:s here so all the byrocracy always causes me troubles. The rest of the day we spent at the beach with some friends. Had a lovely picnic lunch and fought the waves a little, but the sea was so warm today! Tomorrow the job search and beach life continues.

    Tänä aamuna vaihdoimme majoitusta lähemmäksi rantaa. Tämä hostelli sopii meille paremmin, koska täällä on kunnon keittiö kokkailuun ja paljon aktiviteetteja sekä täällä saa apua työnhakuun. Ennen sisäänkirjautumistakaan mukava rekrytointiammattilainen auttoi meitä parantelemaan cv:itä ja saatiin myös uudet australialaiset liittymät! Ääkkösiä sisältävän sukunimen takia mikään ei ulkomailla tosin koskaan toimi mulla, joten joudun huomenna vielä vierailemaan operaattorin liikkeessä. Loppupäivän tänään hengailtiin rannalla kavereiden kanssa ja nautittiin ihana pikniklounas. Meri oli niin lämmin, että piti käydä pulikoimassa vaikka aallot oli valtavia! Huomenna rantaelämä ja työnhaku jatkuu.    En savoir plus

    Arrival

    St Kilda is a part of the city of Melbourne. Nice place to settle for a while. Hostel booked for a week. Already ran all the errands and still had the time to check st Kilda beach. Cut my thumb on a shell and now writing with phone is difficult! Tomorrow's the day when we start applying for jobs. Hopefully we get lucky with something peaceful on the countryside. And the wifi would work. 😒 It hasn't so still no last pics from amazing Singapore rainforest. Off to bed, and tomorrow morning begins the search of a good wifi!

    St Kilda on yksi Melbournen kaupunginosista. Kiva pieni paikka asettua hetkeksi. Hostelli on varattu viikoksi eteenpäin. Ehdittiin tänään jo hoitaa kaikki tarvittavat asiat, kuten pankkitilit yms. ja silti jäi aikaa käydä rannalla! Repäisin vahingossa simpukalla peukaloon ja nyt on kännykän näpyttely vaikeaa. Huomenna alkaa töiden haku. Toivottavasti tärppää jostain päin rauhallista maaseutua. Oltais onnekkaita jos wifikin alkais toimia. 😒 Ei vieläkään oo saatu ladattua loppuun kuvia Singaporen sademetsistä. No, nyt nukkumaan ja huomenna alkaa toimivan wifin metsästys!    En savoir plus

    MacRitchie trail

    We did a four hour hike in MacRitchie nature reservoir which included a tree top walk - about 250 meters long bridge on top of the rainforest trees where you could see everything that was happening in the forests. We were warned about insects and snakes and also greedy monkeys who bite, but the only things we experienced were cute little monkeys playing with each other under the bridge. It was amazing! I've never seen a monkey in wild. A lot of bird and cricket sounds, fresh air and new scents. After the hike in +32 degrees we were so exhausted that didn't do much in the evening, just ate few times and packed - horrible operation because we had spread all over our room! Glad we did it already on Tuesday and not today when I'm writing this and having a flight to Australia. Photos and videos aren't downloading, the files are so big that this tiny hostel wifi can't handle it. Maybe the one in Melbourne is better?

    Vetäistiinpäs neljän tunnin vaellus MacRitchien luonnonsuojelupuistossa ja samalla nähtiin tree top walk, joka on noin 250 metriä pitkä silta sademetsän latvustossa. Meitä varoteltiin ötököistä ja käärmeistä ja ahneista, purevista apinoista, mutta ainoat asiat mitä me nähtiin matkan varrella oli vaan söpöjä apinoita leikkimässä sillan alla. Aika hieno kokemus nähdä niitä parin metrin päässä, kun ei oo koskaan apinaa luonnossa nähny! Koko ajan paljon erilaisia lintujen ja sirkkojen ääniä, raikasta ilmaa ja uusia tuoksuja. Oltiin aika poikki vaelluksen jälkeen, eikä tehty illalla enää juuri muuta ku käytiin syömässä pari kertaa ja pakattiin, mikä olikin hirveä operaatio. Muutamassa päivässä oltiin ehditty levittäytyä ympäri huonetta! Ihan hyvä, että tehtiin se eilen eikä tänään kun tätä kirjoitan ja kohta pitäisi olla lentämässä Australiaan. Kuvat ja videot ei lataudu. Ilmeisesti tiedostot on niin valtavia, ettei tää pikkuruinen hostellin WiFi jaksa niitä ladata. Ehkäpä Melbournessa ois parempi? Aivan mahtava kokemus Singaporessa, ja laitan vielä jälkeenpäin tästäkin tarinoita kunhan kuvat saan esille!    En savoir plus

    Orchard road and cloud forest

    Cloud forest is located in the Gardens by the bay. All my photos and videos from there are in gopro, so have to dig those out from there later. Orchard road is a pretty busy street full of malls! Shopper's paradise.En savoir plus

    All around Singapore

    Over 22000 steps every day for these first three days here. My feet hurt and forehead is burned. But all worth it, we've seen so much of this city! And also because there are no good grocery stores we've just had to eat out every day (I know, what a shame right?😎) and try all kinds of foods. Most have been absolutely delicious. 👌🏻Also had to get back to the gardens by the bay because it is so stunning and experienced a little evening rain and thunder!En savoir plus

    Little India

    Indian market streets and Indian hawker center. Interesting place, worth a visit. I noticed the level of cleanliness isn't what it's like in chinatown area and everything was a bit more chaotic (including the traffic), but the service in shops and food places was a lot nicer. People greeted you and really took care that you had everything you needed. Also I found a dress. Yes, now I have to get rid of something else in my full backpack! Amateur packer 👌🏻😎En savoir plus
