Day 2 - Innsbrucker hut

After getting the Elferbahn cable car up to gain 1000m, we set off.

Only 3km to the lunch stop, a hut in a valley with a jolly waiter where we enjoyed chips, cheese dumplings, apfel strudel and some of us had beers.

Then, the ascent began! Lots of zig-zagged paths, screes and the odd bit of snow higher up. Soundtracked by plenty of cowbells.

The yellow sign told us we'd need 2hrs to reach the Innsbrucker Hut and it was about right, as we reached the ridge of the hill, as if out of nowhere, a hut appeared on the other side.

I was more impressed by the double bench, one looking down to Stubaital, one to Gschnitztal.

Checked in at 4:30 and settled in for the night!

Evening entertainment = a game of pass the pigs, which Cihan won!

Total distance: a humble 8km
