    CP Day 9 To Baiona

    3 september, Spanien ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Today was a 17km day, half of it was in the rain…very heavy at times. It gave Ann a chance to really test out her new rain poncho and it seems to have been a success. We came away from the coast and walked inland through the forest in a muddy and rocky terrain which seemed to go mostly uphill. We walked through a part where forest fires had burned about 3 weeks ago. You can see new growth already sprouting up.
We walked through a beautiful seaside town called Baiona. We are staying just in the other side of town with beautiful views of the sea and beach. At our hostal, we met two women from British Columbia who just came from hiking the Dolomites….the Camino Portuguese is too easy for them 🙄. We spent a couple of hours with them and our Austrian friend Johannes on the terrace drinking wine and eating sardines. Fun!
Off to find dinner ….nothing open til 8pm …
