    CP Day 15 SPIRITUAL to Armenteira

    After a beautiful stay in Combarro we embarked on our next stage of the journey. The hike up to Armenteira. Although only 10km, we gained 1200 ft of elevation. There were some steep sections, but mostly it was a gradual incline so not too bad overall. What amazed us most was that we did not see one other pilgrim on this leg. It was so peaceful.
    This hike took us only about 2.5 hours so we arrived on Armenteira around noon.
    We were very lucky to get a room at the Monastery there. Rooms are hard to come by so we must have got a cancellation. We spent the afternoon in the monastery’s gardens enjoying the serenity by a babbling brook. After dinner we participated in Vespers where we received a Pilgrim’s Blessing. The nun’s singing was beautiful. It was a wonderful way to finish our day    Read more
