On our boat ride back from the Samaria gorge hike we briefly stopped at this picturesque village on the south side of Crete. I took a brief swim in the Libyan Sea.
Capital of Santorini and its main tourist area. Lots of small alleys with shops and restaurants and of course super views of the caldera. Our hotel was on the north side.
3,500+ year old Minoan settlement on the south side of Santorini that was discovered in 1967. Huge new roof covers and protects the site. Lots more to uncover once they have funding.
Museum with artifacts from the archaeological site. Fresco are unbelievable in their color and artistry given that they are almost 4,000 years old!
