Freedom for Leonardo

After breakfast, we revisited the Turtle Rescue Centre, because today we were going to do something very special, releasing the 1.5 year old green turtle "Leonardo" out onto the reef.

It was an emotional moment when Leonardo the man, who had raised him, said his goodbyes to Leonardo the turtle.

We sailed a short distance to a nearby reef, and gathered in the water, as Allan released him. We followed him for 30 minutes and he was already eating after that time – amazing!Read more
