    You sort of have to, don't you?
    Having worked into the late evening to free my head of the email clutter, I'm bleary eyed as we set off. Hoping to sneak onto the (booked out) 09:30 out of Ardrossan, but we'll see.
    This train whiffs of chippy chips. Must have been the last one out of Glasgow the night before.

  • Port Ellen and Mull of Oa

    Squeezing every last drop... the ride from Port Askaig interrupted by a wee walk round Finlaggan and a chat with the farmer shearing the sheep 🐑, or rather his daughters were. Onto Ardbeg, a nip and a wee chat with staff. Recharged, a wee look at Dunyvaig and on to up to the deeply affecting American monument at the Mull of Oa, back for a swim in the bay and a beer.     Love Tarbert, such a pretty wee place, but the ferry is coming in, and the lure of the loch is strong.

    Morning ferry back to Kennacraig was followed by completing the 5 Ferries route and ending up in Rothesay, for the final ferry to the train.
    The heavy rain was mostly dodged, around Colintraive, on the wee coast road, nice wee route, though a bit of a mess in places.Read more
