Got a tuc-tuc to Udong. It took about an hour to do 40km, Almost all the way had shops opening onto the road. Udong was the capital of Cambodia between 1618 and 1866. Had a chocolate and banana pancake. Walked the 509 steps (I didn’t count them, the guide book said!) of the main, monkey. lined north stairway. The monkeys were begging for bottles of water! The steps changed from stone to marble - time to take shoes and socks off. Rain started, marble - slippery when wet! Large market, had a walk through and a tasty treat. Tuc-tuc back took a different route - more rural - more potholes, more hazards - cow, goats and dogs on the road.
Went for a late lunch at Wild - a specialty spring roll restaurant. Had Wild West - minced beef and for dessert had Oreo Cookies in a spring roll.Read more
