    On the slopes of Filopappou Hill, we discovered a hidden gem from antiquity: Socrates’ Prison. Carved into the bedrock on the eastern slope of the hill, the site was believed to have been Socrates’ prison in the 5th century BC. Although it was unlikely to be his actual prison, the ancient remains still impressed us. The well-preserved complex of chambers and passageways included several rooms and a cistern. Adorning the walls were murals that added to the historical allure. After exploring this testimony of antiquity, we enjoyed breathtaking views of the Acropolis and Athens.Read more
