Day 29, last day in Cuzco

After a nice sandwich at the nice lady's bakery, we went on a trip to Area 21. It was about half n hour with the taxi up the mountains. On 21 june, 2021 there was aparently a first sighting of a UFO and contact (whatever that may be) 🤭 in this place, so they put up a bunch of alien statues here. It was really fun to walk around and the view from here was amazing. Nina downloaded an altitude meter and we saw that we were at 3800 meter! After about 40 minutes we saw everything and went back with the same taxi that was waiting for us. Gracias Carlos! He took us to the plaza de armas, and asked us to eat something, "no nececito comer aqui, nosotros mucha gusta cerveza por favor!" So we drank beers and sat a bit in the sun. Then Nina realized we were looking at dutch flag all the time. Aparently they had bitterballen, so we wanted to see if they had kaassouffle's too. We went inside to local, but it was a "different" to go inside. 2nd floor. You had to go around 3 houses and do a left right swing, and you got there. They didn't have kaassouffle's (ofcourse not, why would they put something vegetarian on the menu?), so we tried the bitterballen. They were actually not that bad, but the mustard was so so. It was happy hour, so we drank a cuba libre, and after that we went to the hostel where Kuki worked. It is an expensive hostel. One night in one bed in a dorm room costs as much as our hotel room for two with our own bathroom. The atmosphere is nice though. We watched some UFC, ultimate fighting championship, but we missed the main fight because the bar was closing. We saw at least seven fights. But before the bar closed, eike took part in a local drinking dice game. Let's say 5 people play, then those 5 people have 3 tries to throw 4,, 5, 6. If someone doesn't manage this, this person has to pay 5 shots. But if everybody throws 4, 5, 6, then it goes on to the next round, untill someone loses the round and has to pay all the shots from all the rounds 😅 when you drinknyou say: arriba, abacho, el cento, el sexy moviomento! And then drink. Eike didn't lose, but Kuki did 🤭
end of story. It was raining very hard when we left, so we took a taxi. We packed our bags, because tomorrow we have a 7 hour bus to Puno., on our way to Bolivia!
PS: it was raining earlier on the evening too, and the thunders were so loud, a deaf person could hear it. The whole building was shaking.Read more
