• Day 46, Carnaval keeps on going!

    Yesterday in Bolivia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

After an extreme lazy hangover day, we woke up fresh and energetic, and under the impression that the water fights would be over today. We went outside and people decorated their homes with balloons and flower petals. They also lit little barbecues, but that was not for grilling. We also did not see people selling water balloons, so we thought we were finally safe. In the last two days, it seemed like we were extra targeted because we are tourists 🤭
But then we got a few really hard water ballons splashing on the back of our heads, and suddenly the people who were selling water balloons were also back! So we armed our selves again, bought some beers, and were back in the game! Later in the evening we found the nina ninas again, and met some of the people of two days ago. We are guessing the rest had their hangover day today 🤭 we did not make any pictures because of all the water and foam. We protected our phones in plastic bags, but everything else was completely soaked again. There were some places where the waterfight went really hard, like one street with a 'hidden' park, which was like a trap. In the park there were a lot of people armed to the teeth with water balloons and as soon as a group passed, the whole park went on them 🤣 we had a great day again and met some new people too. We also managed to buy two of the last Nina Ninas tshirts, and went home. Although the city wide waterfight was extremely fun, we hope tomorrow it is over, because we got quite paranoid of it, looking all the time over our shoulders 😂 also, we don't have dry clothes anymore 🤭
