    Gisborne-Three sisters and Elephant rock

    After we cleaned up the house, where we looked after two dogs for a month and worked on the farm, we drove from Gisborne over the mountains to friends in Pukehine. We left our valuables and unnecessary things here. Next, we set off across the center of the island to the Three Sisters and Elephant Rock, where we spent the night.Baca lagi

    Three Sisters and Elephant Rock

    In the morning we woke up in a beautiful place near the Three Sisters. But we had to wait for low tide, which was supposed to be 1:30pm. We shortened the wait with a short trip to the White Cliffs Walkway and Mount Damper Falls. The afternoon was followed by a transfer to the campsite in the town of Piopio.

    Waitomo Caves

    2–3 Okt 2024, New Zealand ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

    The next day we continued towards an area well known for glow worms. The original plan was to visit the cave, but the price put us off. We were put off by the fact that you are not even allowed to take pictures in the cave. We set off, therefore, for a short walk to the Mangapohue Natural Bridge. He went to the beautiful Marokopa Falls. For dinner we drove to Raglan for fresh fish.
    From Raglan we had a long crossing through Auckland to Northland. Late at night 11pm we stopped in Wellsford. We got caught in a terrible rain of 15mm/h.

    Cape Reinga

    We left in the morning with the only wish that the sun would start to shine. Accomplished. We went to the very north of the North Island. We visited the Cape Reinga lighthouse as well as the sand dunes, which we paddled down.
    We have just arrived at the campsite not far from the famous 90 miles beach. Traveling is amazing but challenging. So many hours a day behind the wheel will tire anyone.

    90 Miles Beach - Kaeo

    We didn't get much done today. We walked along 90 miles beach. Its length is 88 km, it is true that we did not even see its beginning and end. Next, we wanted to go on a short trek to the viewpoint, but there was a lot of mud and water after the rains. We gave up. We are now at the mechanic with our car and probably won't be leaving here for a while.

    Dnes jsme toho moc nestihli. Prošli jsme se po pláži s názvem 90 miles beach. Její délka je 88km, je pravda, že jsme neviděli ani na její začátek a konec. Dále jsme chtěli jít krátký trek na vyhlídku, ale bylo hodně bahna a vody po deštích. Vzdali jsme to. Teď jsme u mechanika s naším autem a odsud asi chvíli neodjedeme.    Baca lagi

    Waipu caves - Muriwai

    6–7 Okt 2024, New Zealand ⋅ 🌬 21 °C

    Stop today for an amazing breakfast and coffee at a small cafe in Waipu. (Finally a pastry that resembled Europe). We continued to the caves and were pleasantly surprised by how many glowworms we saw. The cave was big and without spiders...ugh😀 We continued the short walk up the hill. After lunch they set off for Muriwai Camp. The weather does not favor us for more travel. It's still raining. Hopefully there will be at least a few hours tomorrow to visit Piha beach and other places before we move to Auckland.

    Dnes zastávka na úžasnou snídani a kávu v malé kavárně ve Waipu. (Konečně pečivo, které připomínalo Evropu). Dále jsme pokračovali do jeskyní a byli jsme mile překvapeni kolik glowworms jsme viděli. Jeskyně byla velká a bez pavouků...uff😀 Pokračovali jsme krátkou procházku na kopec. Po obědě vyrazili do kempu Muriwai. Počasí nám nějak nepřeje na větší cestování. Pořád prší. Snad bude zítra aspoň pár hodin na navštívení Piha beach a dalších míst, než se posuneme do Aucklandu.     Piha Beach - Auckland

    This is the end of our journey. We will stay in Auckland until our flight to the Cook Islands. We have a few things to arrange before our flight. Today's weather was not very kind to us. Cloudy and heavy haze on Piha beach. We took some photos, I cleaned the glasses twice from the salt from the ocean, we ate burgers and quickly gave. AUCKLAND
    Auckland is not my favorite city, because the traffic here is crazy, but the ocean, parks and trees everywhere give it a different charm.

    Tímto pomalu končí naše cestování. Do odletu na Cookovy ostrovy zůstaneme v Aucklandu. Musíme zařídit pár věcí před odletem. Dnešní den nám počasím moc nepřál. Na Piha beach zataženo a silný opar. Udělali jsme pár fotek, 2x jsem vyčistila brýle od soli z oceánu, snědli burgry a rychle dal.    Baca lagi

    Auckland- Cook Islands

    Do you know when Auckland is the most beautiful? At night, when most are asleep, there are few cars on the road. Because then you can easily cross the city in 40 minutes and not in 2 hours.
    I'm sorry for the photo, I can't take photos at 100 km/h.

    It's sad how time flies. On November 1, 2023, we stopped here at 7 in the morning, on the other side of the world. Now we fly from the same hall to rest on vacation.

    Víte, kdy je Aucklandu nejkrásnější?
    Jednoznačně v noci!! Všichni spi, nikde nikdo, málo aut na cestě. Díky tomu jsme město z jedné strany na druhou přejeli za 35min a ne za 2h.
    Fotka nic moc..já vím, ale na dálnici za jízdy není nikdy nic dokonalé.
    Je to smutné jak ten čas letí. 1.11.2023 jsme tady v 7 ráno stáli jak trdla, na druhé straně světa. Teď ze stejné haly letíme na dovolenou odpočívat.    Baca lagi
