Canal cruise around the Islands

I went on a 1 1/2 hour canal cruise on a sightseeing boat today. Free with my Helsinki card. Some boats let you hop off on some of the Islands but this one didn't. It had a commentary though which was good to get the history of them.
People live there and commute by boat to Helsinki, it doesn't take long as they're only just off the coast.
Suomenlinna is the biggest and most interesting one as it was a Russian sea fortress before Finland's Independence 100 years ago.Read more
