Last West Coast road tripping day

First up we see the shipwreck museum at Thorsminde. This museum has been recommended highly and for good reason. Considering it's in such a small town, it's fantastic. Lots of grants have enabled this to be the nation's museum on shipwrecks.

It's drizzling and we find morning tea with an interesting morning tea host. He's a retired bloke who serves you as if you are in his own home and loves to chat.

We go see another lighthouse, Bovbjerg Fyr, at Lemvig. We spent a lot of time there. Karen's artist friend from Hvide Sande has an exhibition here! The sun has come out and we end up having our leftover pizza for lunch in the carpark. Lovely beach, big cliffs, WW2 bunkers, little ponies. Paragliders jump off the cliffs.

Further north at Thyboron, we have an icecream at a shell house, "Sneglehust" (The Snail house). Alfred Pederson, a local fisherman, spent 25 years covering his house with shells as a tribute to the sea and as a gift to his wife.
The person serving us was half Danish, half Australian (his mum is from Queensland) and usually lives in Germany. This is his holiday job.

Then a car ferry across to Agger where we hit the highway and go back east to Aarhus.Read more
