• Naomi from Kiribati

    2018年10月26日, オーストラリア ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Naomi was another agency nurse, working for HCA, at Nguiu for 3 weeks. She's a lovely grandma type. She had her hubby (he's Caucasian Australian, 2nd hubby) and 2 grandkids come over from Darwin one weekend.
I met her daughter, son and his partner when we had lunch yesterday.
They are from a group of islands in the Pacific I never heard of - Kiribati, or Gilbert Islands it used to be called.
She showed me a photo book at her house, lovely photos. Lovely family.

  • Catching up with Ben

    2018年10月28日, オーストラリア ⋅ ☀️ 12 °C

Found a good app, Moovit, that helped me get trains and busses from Essendon to Chadstone Shopping Centre to meet Ben for lunch. Great app!!
We had lunch in the food court there then caught another bus to his house, I haven't been there yet. Lovely house and street!! One of his 4 flatmates parents own it. Met 3 of his flatmates today -lovely lads, one of them made me a cup of tea ☕
From Ben's place it's only a short walk to the Mt Waverly train station. The train goes straight into Flinders Street, jump on another that comes straight to Essendon then a short walk to Jimmy's. Easy peasy, didn't need an app for that one!
    Jimmy's back from his Festival

  • Leg 3 of getting home

    2018年10月30日, オーストラリア ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

    Jim to Joe's.
Relaxing morning then taxi to airport. Got a lively new car from Bargain Cars, a treat for being a good customer apparently 😁 very nice.
Haircut at Kings Meadows on the way through to Joe's.
Joe says there's a house inspection tomorrow so I get in and clean their bathroom and loo. That's what mothers do..... 😂

  • Hello Dan

    2018年10月31日, オーストラリア ⋅ 🌙 7 °C

Lazy day then went to the Grade 12 boarders and parents dinner at Hazelbrae at Hagley. The BH bus picked me up on the way through. The Stackies went in Clarke's ute, was good to catch up with them. 3 other sets of parents went too. Plus Yvonne and Jenny Conti, and the Slavins.
Hazelbrae is a Hazelnut farm and restaurant. They're not usually open Wednesdays but opened for us with a set menu. Very nice food, and very cosy with just our group.
Each student was given a gift and a lovely card. The girls got a cup. The boys got a lovely set of cufflinks with the Grammar shield and Hawkes House written on it. First year they've done that for students.
