• Knaresborough

Kingfisher site at Knaresborough - very peaceful, and set around 2 lakes.
Walked into Knaresbrough for the Wednesday Market - the town was buzzing and the small market one of the best we had seen for a while.
At one stall we heard one chap, when buying some fabric, utter "Aye, I don't want owt fancy"
and another picked up a remnant priced at £3.80 and boldly asked the stallholder "Will you tek 2 pound for this?" Confirmation that we were in Yorkshire.
Knaresborough is a beautiful town set high up above the River Nidd
Visited Mother Shipton's Cave and the petrifying well which was interesting.
Following day we cycled into Knaresborough and then on to Harrogate - quite hilly, but we found a cycle route back which took us along a flat cycle path. Another foraging opportunity not missed by K - we filled our 2 water bottles with large juicy blackberries.
These are two delightful towns, which we will return to at some point. Weather now has an autumnal feel to it, but still with plenty of sunshine.
