Day six of our walk had us driving a little way to Hamble-Le-Rice where we parked up mid morning. We then wandered up to Hamble station and took the train to Woolston three stops down the line. The train was virtually empty with us the only occupants of our carriage.
We walked across the Itchen Bridge as far as Town Quay - all was very quiet and most amenities closed. From there we retraced our steps back across the bridge, dropping into Woolston and south eastwards along The Weston Shore where we stopped for our picnic.
We passed through Netley and onward along the beach, in front of the oil storage depot, before reaching the nature reserve at Hamble Point. From there we finished with a short walk to the ferry point on the River Hamble, we were looking at Warsash on the opposite bank.Leia mais
