📌 A late night train after work to York ended up with us having a drink at the pub when the first one was delayed and then heading back to the clinic once all of them were cancelled.

📌 Early Saturday morning we tried again and we were off to York. We were staying with a lovely elderly lady, Carol, who loved a chat. We had tea and breaky with her each morning and I think she appreciated having all kinds of conversations, particularly about India as she had been there many times.

📌 York is definitely one of your favourite cities in the UK so far, the town felt very english, exactly what you would expect when you imagine a traditional town/city. The shops were beautiful, the pubs were everywhere and the vibe was great. It was great to wander around the lanes and cobble street roads. The history of the Roman Empire in York also added an extra touch of interest to visiting the area.

📌 A few highlights in York included an incredible kimchi and cheese toastie with coffee, a Yorkshire Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding and sticky toffee pudding for desert, a wine at a small busy wine bar, some jam and cream scones at a tea house and a movie at an old cinema. We have definitely ticked off a few cliche english traditions after this visit. If a job came up in York, we would take it up for sure!
