    Cotopaxi Vulkan inkl. National Park

    April 17, 2023 in Ecuador ⋅ ☁️ 1 °C

Today I went with Nicole from Bern to the beginning of the glaciers at the Cotopaxi Vulcano.
We got picked up at 9:00 and bought on the way some coca leaves, where we met an German and Austrian girl. So we made the tour together.

Unfortunately it was very foggy, so we have not seen so much of the Vulcano, but on the way to it was amazing to see. Also the Vulcano is currently closed to got to the summit, because he is activ.

We started at 4600 and went in 1h to 5000. I was surprised, that that was not a big problem for me, especially at this altitude.

It was very nice to see the glaciers & it reminded me at huayna potosi. Next big mountain should be the in the Himalaya 🤪 I really enjoy these high hikes, but it went cold, but still ok.

Then we went to the base camp at 4860 & drunk there hot chocolate and had lunch. We also got an stamp in the passport 🤪

After that we went down & it was nice to walk fast down😂 also the nature before this glaciers is so beautiful and surreal, especially with the fog.

After that we went to a Laguna and then back to the hostel. I drove to Quito also today!

    It still rains every day…
