    Amsterdam and Sea day.

Yesterday was turn around day for Prinsendam , so a large group that had been on board since Ft Lauderdale left, and we have a very full ship this time around.
The day in Amsterdam meant a move for us to a new cabin, just down the hall, so an easy task ,with great help and all done in no time… not much has changed of course, it seemed not so quiet, but is working out just fine..still our same very special young men looking after us ,we like them lots.
We walked to the city, about 20 mins walk, along past where all the River Boat Cruises ,leave from, they are huge, compared to what we went on years ago..many different lines, all ready and waiting.. The city, well very happy we chose the part we did, to stay in, the centre is so ,so, busy ,even in the morning, and not that clean to be honest, a couple of pretty canal views ,and a Barrel Organ, reminding that this is really Holland, but a lengthy walk, and not inspired…traffic is dangerous, scooters use the bike lanes and its all very fast, the buses at great speed… They are wanting to find a way not to allow so many people to visit Amsterdam, unsure of how that could work..
However on a sunny afternoon we left on the journey to the open sea, and this time earlier, warmer ,and better views inland, seeing more of the countryside, the cows ,in their fenceless fields, and the Locks at Ijmuiden ,as we came out to the North Sea. Very calm and it’s light so late of course, and more so as we proceed North.
Perfect day today for our day at sea, lots to do on board, so we were off to the Crows Nest, lots of gannet’s above, then Americas Test Kitchen, for Salmon 2 ways, all very nice ,and entertaining, as the fellow guests stumble in and out ,some arriving as Sam said, in time for the applause at the end..! First day, they will settle…hopefully.. Several Microsoft Windows 10 classes, I find very good. Talks on Ports ahead ,Floral arrangements, Bridge, and much more, to entertain
Tonight the Captains welcome, and of course this is his Birthplace, so very enthusiastic about taking us “home”. He reads us his little poems of wisdom each day, may have said , but it’s such a nice touch. Weather to be not good for 2 days, and then better, we have been to the first 2 places, but disappointing for others ,if it rains..and it does in Norway… 4 new Ports ahead for us, and glowing reports on what we will see ,as we venture right to the very top and then some, of Norway, to the Borders with Russia and Finland.
More tomorrow, so pleased you have warmed up, and love to hear you are reading. Bye from us heading to Alesund.
